Running the 2026 Chicago Marathon is more than a personal goal for me, its a mission rooted in my time in the military.
I have been serving in the Army National Guard for 6 years and recently came back from deployment overseas to the Middle East. I have seen firsthand the hardship and sacrifices made by those who serve. I have witnessed and experienced the long hours, the time away from loved ones, and the physical and emotional toll that doesn't always end when the uniform comes off. Serving alongside some of the most dedicated people I've ever known has shaped who I am and gave me a deep respect for the military community.
That's why I'm honored to be running with SALUTE INC., a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting veterans and their families when they need it most. SALUTE INC. provides financial assistance and resources to help veterans navigate life after service, because service doesn't end at discharge, and neither should support.
Running through the streets of Chicago, mile by mile, I will be carrying the stories of the people I have served with and for. I started my running journey on deployment and I am excited to run for a cause that can support my fellow battle buddies.
