I’m an active-duty Service Member running the 2026 Bank of America Chicago Marathon to earn my first Abbott World Marathon Major star, proudly fundraising for SALUTE, INC. This race represents more than 26.2 miles—it’s a chance to give back to an organization built by military families, for military families.
Founded after 9/11 by a deployed Naval Reservist and his family, SALUTE, INC. understands firsthand the financial, physical, and emotional strain military service can place on Service Members and their loved ones. Their mission—to support injured Service Members, Veterans, and families during their most challenging moments—deeply resonates with me as both a runner and a member of the military community.
The resilience required to train for a marathon mirrors the strength our military families show every day. Every mile I run and every dollar raised helps SALUTE, INC. continue providing critical support to those who have sacrificed so much.
