In February 1970, my father, Daryl Kruse was called to serve the US Army in the War in Vietnam. He served on the 1st Battalion of the 501st Infantry for 1 year and 7 months. When he passed away in 2015, he had never shared much about his experience there - but it deeply affected his whole life in many ways.
I am running the 2019 Chicago Marathon to raise funds for Salute, Inc in his honor. Salute is an organization dedicated to meeting the financial, physical and emotional needs of injured military service members, veterans and their families.
Thru this fundraising, you will help to support the Salute organization's goal of providing a financial safety net for veterans and their families, and you will help honor his memory and service.
