Hi! Our names are Hannah Verrette and Emily Landon and we are training for our first marathon! We will be running the Chicago Marathon on October 11th and are raising money for Salute Inc. Salute is an Illinois-based non-profit that provides support to veterans and their families as they make the difficult transition to civilian life. Many veterans leave the military with physical and mental disabilities, and Salute is committed to helping veterans deal with these hardships.
Hannah currently works as a medical assistant and provides care daily for referred veterans in Richmond, Virginia. She has learned the stories of her patients and recognizes the sacrifices they’ve made and the hardships they experience after transitioning back to civilian life. Hannah is supportive of Salute’s mission to assist veterans return back to a productive and independent life after military service.
Emily is the daughter of a USMC officer and has spent her life surrounded by military members and veterans. She has lived in 9 places and been through 3 deployments as a military kid. Emily has seen firsthand the sacrifices that many veterans make throughout their service, and is committed to supporting Salute's mission.
We are two friends and former teammates who are excited to run our first marathon while raising money for veterans! Please consider donating and help us reach our goal!
